Unsustainable devalopment

Nowadays, the earth becomes warm and warm due to emitting of greenhouse gases, pollution in air, water and others and deforestation. That's because we use energy without thinking that leads to unsustainable development. The effects will impact not only on our generation but also on next generations causing them not able to continue living anymore.

Since the past few centuries, people have been inviting new things to comfort our everyday lives. E.g. producing new models of cars. Rich people are competing each others and they will buy every new car. On another aspect, they are using more oil and causing air pollution and it will lead to increasing scarcity of oil. Next up, have u noticed that we use paper everyday in schools, homes and works? Paper is made from trees and I've read that " one sheet of paper is made from 10 trees". I don't know that is a true fact or not. Next, population is growing all over the world and to cover all people's starvation, agriculture has to be risen up and forest needs to be wiped out in order to get space. Again, it causes deforestation. Less trees means less carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases, is taken and the rest is released to the atmosphere.

I don't want to say " don't invite new things" but it is necessary to use renewable energy like wind energy, solar energy, water and other alternatives fuel that will help us with scarcity of resources. Let's make our next generations able to inherit the beautiful world with full of resources from us.

Reflection on Video "Tsunami The Aftermath"

The Aftermath begins not with a crashing wave of water but rather with something far more chilling. A boatload of vacationing scuba divers returns to their Phuket resort after a morning outing on December 26, 2004 and notice all sorts of debris, and then bodies, in the water. At the dock they see that the entire landscape is destroyed, the hotel is in ruins, and everyone, including their families and friends, is gone. As they run through the wreckage screaming, you'll feel chills.
Among the group is Susie Carter who quickly reunites with her husband Ian but is devastated to learn their six-year-old daughter slipped out of her father's arms and has disappeared. Meanwhile, Kim Peabody has lost her husband but finds her teenage son horribly injured.
The guy from British Council finds himself unable to provide what his countrymen need. Meanwhile, Nick and his photographer Chai are going around on a motorcycle with a sidecar looking for stories. Then Nick is outraged to discover that the Buddhist monk are burning the bodies that haven't been identified.
This is a chilling movie with a fictional drama. The director could make tsunami looks fantastic and u would feel like u were there if u watch the movie..

Reflection On Video" The Cove"

This movie is directed about the dolphin hunting operation in Taji, Wakayama, Japan. It's kind of a real documentary which was secretly filmed by using underwater microphones and high-definition cameras hidden in rocks. This film presented about a large scale of dolphin killing in Taiji, compared with the killing of whales in Antarctic,  which is several times greater : 23,000 dolphins a year.

There is an certain area that the dolphins are herded to coast. The area is restricted by the fences and "Keep Out" signs and the local people also shows an activity to hide from the public. Attempts to view or film of the dolphin killing in the cove are also physically blocked by local volunteers who treat the visitors with open intimidation and anger. First they sell the dolphins to aquariums and marine parks and the rest are slaughtered inhumanely and sell as meat.
The dolphin meat are legally sold in supermarkets in Taiji. According to the film, dolphin meat is high in mercury and so it will lead to mercury poisoning. What's more shocking is that they support students as school lunch. SHOCKING... isn't it? They said they killed dolphins because dolphins eat too much fish in ocean and they might face the decline in their food supply.By selling dolphins, they can earn a lot of money like $15,000 for "shows dolphins" and $600 for dolphin meat. It's easy money, I guess.
From my aspect, we can't just stop them because that's not the thing we like. It's just the way they are and may be their culture. We butcher chickens, cows and many others animals for food. I won't say it's not right thing to do but I think government should make some rules and policy for killing dolphins to become less.

Reflection On Video " South Park Whale Wars"

"South park whale wars" is the video filmed about Japanese's culture of whaling practice and those who think that's not right about slaughtering whales and dolphins and something must be done about it. The video is quite comic. Most of the people don't know about the Japanese's culture so they don't know why Japanese slaughter the whales and dolphins.
In this video, Japanese wearing traditional clothes killed whales and dolphins at an alarming rate not only in South Park but also in Aquarium, at dolphin show and even at an NFL game, they killed all the members of Miami Dolphins Football team with spears and no one cared about it. The kid called "Stan" join the shipping crew to stop the Japanese but the crew he joined was just a fake that wanted to get media attention by the use of the issue. Later, the kid became captain after he destroyed a Japanese ship. Finally the kid's crew got caught by Japanese President and Japanese told them that they hated whales and dolphins because the first atomic bomb was dropped on "Hiroshima" by the Americans at the end of the second war and they wanted revenge for who had done that. After the war, they got a picture who did that and that was dolphin and whale. That's why they butchered whales and dolphins. But he hinted that was wrong and if he revealed the truth, they might start a war with Americans. So he showed them another photo that the victims are chickens and cows.
Starting from that, Japanese switched their hatred to the cows and chickens. The significance of the line "at least they are normal now, like us" at the end of the show when the Japanese started butchering cows and chicken is that the American are impressive their idea of 'normal' in Japanese ,they think who has same behavior with them is right.
That's not a right thing. They kill whales and dolphins and Japanese whalers actually don't give a sh** about any creatures in the ocean. But what about us? We kill chickens, cows, pigs and cows, don't we? And who think we are wrong? No one cares about it.

Why Study Geography?

The science of geography is likely the oldest of all sciences. Exploration and the discovery of new places, new cultures, and new ideas have always been basic components of geography. Thus, geography is often called the "mother of all sciences" as studying other people and other places led to other scientific fields such as biology, anthropology, geology, mathematics, astronomy, chemistry, among others.
Geography is the science that we learn about the environment, the features and the inhabitants and the phenomena of the earth. To be considered, there are five themes of geography:
  • Location
  • Place
  • Human-environment interactions
  • Movement and Migration
  • Region

Why do we need to study Geography?

Studying geography in class seems to be boring but to be certain, we were surely interested when we started learning about the things related with earth, e.g solar system. We can know about the minerals and resources which exit on our earth.
From studying geography,we can also know what's happening around the world right now and can understand how and why the world is changing globally and locally.Studying also provides knowledge about the other plants and how to save.
From geography, we can know how and why the natural disasters happen in our world. So we could figure out how those disasters affect the world.Besides those facts, studying geography let us to know about the different cultures, societies, political systems and landscapes. It can also inform us about the environments across the world and about the human actions to the earth.
